Grades 3 & 4 Newsletter Week of April 21, 2014 Thank you for your generosity and participation in our annual Basket Auction/Pasta Dinner and your continued support of our school. Next Monday and Tuesday, 5/5 and 5/6 all of the students will be attending the Carbon County Environmental Center to participate in the fun activities of the Environthon. The field trip to the Crayola Factory was wonderful. We have a very enjoyable day. On Friday, 4/25 we will be visiting the Crayola Factory for our field trip. Join us for McTeachers’ Night at McDonald’s in Walnutport from 4-7 P.M. tonight, Monday. Tomorrow is TEAM Day. Beginning today students are asked to bring a towel to school as we will be eating lunch outdoors –weather permitting. Our tentative Academic Agenda is as follows: Math-continuing - Grade 3-continue -Chapter 9- Geometry Grade 4- continue-Chapter 10- Geometry, Vocab Test, Fri. 5/2 Spelling-working on Lesson 29- Grade 3 – homophones Grade 4- words containing “vc/cv” patterns Reading- beginning Unit 4- both grades Grade 3 – focused skill- story setting, Selection-Sam and the Lucky Money Grade 4- focused skill, paraphrasing- Selection- Half -Chicken English-beginning study of Adverbs- Chapter 6 for Grades 3 and 4 Religion- continuing Chapter 11- Models of Faith, Test Thurs.-5/1 Science- Chapter 1- The Circulatory System and the Heart Social Studies- continue reading/study of “Tales of the Towpath” a documented history of the Lehigh-Delaware Canal God Bless, Candace A.
