Grades 3 & 4 Newsletter Week of April 21, 2014 Welcome to spring and the fourth academic quarter of the school year! What a beautiful Easter weekend! The dog or chocolate items are due today, Tuesday, 4/22 for our classroom baskets. Thank you for your generosity and your support of our school. On Friday, 4/25 we will be visiting the Crayola Factory for our field trip. It will be an enjoyable day for the students with many hands-on activities. Please bring a bagged disposable lunch including a drink. Our tentative Academic Agenda is as follows: Math-continuing - Grade 3-continue -Chapter 9- Geometry Grade 4- continue-Chapter 10- Geometry Spelling-working on Lesson 29- Grade 3 – homophones Grade 4- words containing “vc/cv” patterns Reading- beginning Unit 4- both grades Grade 3 – focused skill- theme, Selection-Ananse’s Feast Grade 4- skills, drawing conclusions- Selection- Rikki-Tikki-Tavi English-beginning study of Adverbs- Chapter 6 for Grades 3 and 4 Religion- working on Chapter 11- Models of Faith Science- Chapter 1- The Circulatory System and the Heart Social Studies- continue reading/study of “Tales of the Towpath” a documented history of the Lehigh-Delaware Canal God Bless, Candace A.
