Grades 3 & 4 Newsletter Week of May 5, 2014 We are in need of donations for our Mother’s Day Project -I am asking all students to bring 2 cups of granulated sugar in a double bag to school. Thanks! Monday and Tuesday, 5/5 and 5/6 all of the students will be attending the Carbon County Environmental Center to participate in the fun activities of the Environthon. Mrs. Marzen will be attending on Monday with the students and I will be attending on Tuesday. Students need to wear their TEAM Day attire and bring along a bagged, disposable lunch and a drink. Thank you for joining us for McTeachers’ Night at McDonald’s. Your support was appreciated. Our tentative Academic Agenda is as follows: Math-continuing - Grade 3-continuing -Chapter 9- Geometry, Vocab Test, Fri. 5/9 Grade 4- continuing -Chapter 10- Geometry, Vocab Test, Fri. 5/9 Spelling-working on Lesson 31- Grade 3 – words containing sounds of “oi and ou” Grade 4- words containing syllable patterns Reading- Grade 3 – focused skill-cause/effect, Selection-Thunder Cake Grade 4- focused skill, compare/contrast- Selection- Blame it on the Wolf English-continue study of Adverbs- Chapter 6 for Grades 3 and 4 Religion- working on Chapter 11- The Church Teaches, also working on Saints Reports Science- Chapter 1- The Circulatory System and the Heart, Open-Book Test –Thurs. 5/8 Social Studies- continue reading/study of “Tales of the Towpath” a documented history of the Lehigh-Delaware Canal.
