Grades 3 & 4 Newsletter Week of January 21, 2014 I hope you all enjoyed the three day Dr. Martin Luther King weekend. Mid-Term Exams begin today, Tuesday, January 21st. All students have been given their Mid-Term Exam Study Schedule. Please refer to this study guide/schedule for specific information. Parents please keep in mind that in order to do their best work on their exams your children should have at least 8 hours of sleep each night and also eat breakfast each morning. Food provides energy for our brain and will give them a thinking boost. Be advised that there will not be ancillary classes for the next 2 weeks. Education/Academic Fair Projects are due on Friday, 1/24 Our Mid-Term Exam Schedule for this week is as follows: Tuesday, 1/21 Reading and Spelling Wednesday, 1/22 Religion and Science Thursday, 1/23 English and Social Studies Friday, 1/24 Math Have a blessed week, Candace A. Steffie Our tentative week’s schedule is as follows: Math – Grade 4- continue working on Chapter 12- Divide by 2 Digits Grade 3- continue working on Chapter 5- Division Concepts and Facts Spelling – Lesson 16- Test Today- Mon. 1/13 Working on Lesson 17- Grade 4- Names of Holiday/Events Grade 3- words containing long “O” Reading- Grade 3 –focused skill- Main Ideas and Details, selection- Nights of the Pufflings Grade 4 –focused skill- Theme, selection- The Swimming Hole English-Vocabulary Workshop- concluding Unit 2 both grades Test-Wed., 1/15 Also, we will be working on Unit 3. Religion- continuing Chapter 6 – Making Good Choices, Test-Friday, 1/17 Science- concluding Chapter 1 – Measuring Matter (Physical Science) Open Book/Note Test –Tues.1/14, Lessons 1-3 only, pp. B5-B19 Social Studies-beginning Chapter 3, Looking At Regions God Bless, Candace A.
