    Weeks of October 29 and November 4, 2012

Thank you for all of your donations for our Halloween Party. Happy Halloween to all!
TEAM Day is Tuesday, Oct. 30th.
Students’ October Book Reports are due today, October 31st.
Mrs. Sarmir will be teaching my 4th grade class on Nov. 1, 2, 5, and 7th .
 I will be attending my daughter Tara’s wedding in Jamaica.
Thursday, Nov. 1st is All Saints’ Day and a holy day of obligation.
All students will be attending 8:00 Mass.
On Friday, Nov.2nd students will be participating in the school wide Election Assembly.

Our tentative academic agenda will be as follows:

Math- continuing Chapter 5-Divide by One Digit,
          Test on Lessons 1-6, Thurs. 11/1
Spelling-working on Lesson 9, words containing sounds of “k”, “f” and “z”
              working on Lesson 10, words containing sounds of “s” and “j”
Reading- focused skill- text structure, text selection- I Love Guinea Pigs
              focused skill- theme, text selection- The Swimming Hole                    
English- concluding Chapter 5- Verbs, Test-Mon. 11/5 on pp. 293-297,303-311
             Working on Vocabulary Workshop- Units 2&3
Religion-continuing Chapter 4- In God’s Image, Test– Fri. 11/2
          Working on Chapter 5- Created for One Another
Science- continuing Chapter 3- Energy in Ecosystems, Lessons 1-3 only, pp. A67-A81
Test-Wed., 11/7 we will be creating Woodland Habitat Models when all
          materials are available.
          We are in need of 7 additional 2-liter bottles.        
Social Studies- continuing Chapter 1 - The American Landscape
          Test on Lesson 1-pp.47-51, Thurs. 11/7  
          A Land of Different Lands, Landforms of the United States
         
          We will be completing the Election Posters on Wednesday and Thursday.
