Grades 3 & 4 Newsletter Week of March 10, 2014 Thanks to all of the students for creating their beautiful crosses for our cross exchange. Students will be praying for their Lenten Prayer Partners throughout Lent. Cognitive Abilities Tests will be given to the third grade students Wednesday through Friday of this week. Please be sure your child gets adequate sleep and eats breakfast. Soft pretzels ($1.00) and orange drink ($.50) will be sold at lunch beginning on Friday, 3/7 and each Friday during Lent. The third and fourth grade Biography Book Reports are due Thursday, 3/14. Our tentative Academic Agenda is as follows: Math- Grade 3- continuing Chapter 6-More Multiplication/Division Facts Grade 4- working on Chapter 8- Fraction Concepts Mid-Chapter Test, pp. 266-279, Fri. 3/14 Spelling- Working on Lesson 24, both grades- Review of Lessons 19-23 Reading- Grade 3 focused skill-text structure, Selection- Mom’s Best Friend Grade 4- focused skill-drawing conclusions, Selection- Marvin of the Great North Woods English- Grades 3 & 4- Creative Writing Assignment- Informative Description Religion- concluding Chapter 7- The Beatitudes, Test Wed. 3/12 Science- Beginning -The Human Body- Chapter 1- The Digestive, Circulatory and Nervous Systems Social Studies- Beginning Chapter 2- Natural Regions of PA God Bless, Candace A.
