Grades 3 & 4 Newsletter Week of January 6, 2014 Happy New Year to all! 2014 is here! Hurray! Students have been given their Education Fair Information and the person that they are assigned to research and complete a project on. These projects are due on Tuesday, January 21st. The Lehighton Library is a source of information for the assigned people of Carbon County. Belated Birthday wishes are extended to Matthew Kuznicki and Xamantha Descallar, who celebrated their birthdays on December 19th. Happy Birthday wishes are also extended to Megan Aaron, who celebrated her special day on Thursday, January 2nd. Our tentative week’s schedule is as follows: Math – Grade 4- Chapter 5- Divide by 1 Digit, Test- Mon.1/6/14 Working on Chapter 12- Divide by 2 Digits Grade 3- Chapter 4- Multiplication Facts & Concepts, Test-Mon. 1/6/14 Working on Chapter 5- Division Concepts and Facts Spelling – Lesson 16- Grade 4- Verbs and Adjectives Grade 3- words containing long “I” Reading- Grade 3 –focused skill- Main Ideas and Details, selection- Nights of the Pufflings Grade 4 –focused skill- Theme, selection- The Swimming Hole English-Vocabulary Workshop- working on Unit 2 both grades Religion- continuing Chapter 6 – Making Good Choices Science- continue working on Chapter 1 – Measuring Matter (Physical Science) Open Book/Note Test – Wed. 1/8 Lessons 1-3 only, pp. B5-B19 Social Studies-concluding Chapter 1- A Land of Different Lands-Lessons 4&5 Open Book Test- Tues. 1/7- Lessons 3-5, pp. 60-75 Happy New Year, Candace A.
